Highlights
Zero Acre oil contains heart-healthy and heat-stable monounsaturated fat with up to 10 times less linoleic acid (an omega-6 fat linked to inflammation) than olive oil and avocado oil.
Zero Acre oil has a smoke point of up to 485ºF and shares high oxidative stability with solid fats while remaining liquid at room temperature and in the fridge.
Cooking with Zero Acre oil produces significantly fewer toxic aldehydes than other cooking oils.
Every batch of Zero Acre oil is tested for authenticity, purity, and quality. Scan the QR code on the back of your bottle for transparency and traceability.
Introduction
It's important to get the right types of fat in our diets. While meat and animal proteins have received a lot of media attention, our appetite for oils and fats is growing faster.
In the last 20 years, calories from vegetable oils and butter are up +28% and +22%, respectively, while calories from beef and dairy are down -14% and -3%. With this increase in fat consumption, we’re seeing an uptick in vegetable oil intake in particular, which is expected to grow even more rapidly.
Vegetable Oil Intake and Health
The increase in vegetable oil consumption stems from a shift in perspective during the 20th century when fears of saturated fat led to replacements with vegetable oils, many of which were partially hydrogenated to create trans fats. Although most vegetable oils contain low levels of saturated fat and can lower cholesterol levels, studies have not shown a corresponding decrease in heart attacks or long-term health improvements. In fact, the consumption of vegetable oils has been linked to higher risks of chronic diseases, including heart disease and diabetes.
Today, 6 in 10 American adults have a chronic illness primarily caused by diet, and a significant factor in our diets has been the rise in linoleic acid consumption.
Benefits of Zero Acre oil
Zero Acre oil serves the growing demand for a cooking oil that is low in linoleic acid and high in healthy fats that can withstand high-heat cooking. With 1.8-3% linoleic acid, Zero Acre oil has substantially lower levels than traditional oils.
Zero Acre oil is primarily composed of monounsaturated fat, which is stable at high temperatures and not associated with adverse health risks. It is produced through fermentation rather than pressing or chemical extraction, resulting in a higher amount of healthy fats and a lower amount of inflammatory fats.
High Oxidative Stability
Vegetable oils' high polyunsaturated fat content makes them susceptible to oxidation, leading to the formation of toxic compounds. Zero Acre oil has been tested and shown to produce significantly fewer PUFA-derived aldehydes during cooking compared to other oils.
High Smoke Point
Zero Acre oil has a high smoke point of 485ºF, making it suitable for high-temperature cooking while minimizing harmful effects associated with other cooking oils.
High Quality
Unlike many brands, Zero Acre oil is traceable to a single origin of production, ensuring a high standard of quality and transparency. Each batch is tested for a comprehensive fatty acid profile, free fatty acids, peroxide value, and antioxidant content.
The Takeaway
Vegetable oils offer no key nutrients necessary for survival and pose health risks. Instead of eliminating oils, focusing on high-quality, low-linoleic acid oils like Zero Acre can provide a healthier alternative without sacrificing culinary enjoyment.
Zero Acre oil represents a modern approach to cooking oils, aligning with our nutritional needs without falling victim to the pitfalls of traditional vegetable oils.
